Pukil Lima (Limited Edition - Bruce Munro: Tropical Light Exhibition)
The twisted, wrinkled branches of the magnificent native raintree, pictured here to represent the concept of time.
Some of these trees are hundreds of years old and would have been used for shade; a meeting place for people...the stories they could tell! I wanted to show the “wrinkles” and texture in the bark - to give the impression of age and the wisdom that comes along with that.It was also important to show the imposing structure of these trees, so I used a low angle looking up through the branches.
Limited to 40 editions as part of an exclusive collection for the 2019 Bruce Munro: Tropical Light exhibition. Each image created relates directly to one of the exhibited light sculptures (of the same title) created and displayed in the Darwin CBD during the tropical summer of 2019-2020.
