Light Shower (Limited Edition - Bruce Munro: Tropical Light Exhibition)
This installation contains both the words “light” and “shower” and I wanted to capture both elements in one image!
Raindrops hitting leaves of the native Maranthes Corymbosa: a nod to the significance of our wet season for all native plants and animals. Although we experience many heavy showers in the tropics, this image shows another side. I hope this image evokes the smell of summer rain - that smell when the cool rain hits the hot ground in those early build up months.
Limited to 40 editions as part of an exclusive collection for the 2019 Bruce Munro: Tropical Light exhibition. Each image created relates directly to one of the exhibited light sculptures (of the same title) created and displayed in the Darwin CBD during the tropical summer of 2019-2020.
