A hidden cascade falls from the escarpment of Litchfield National Park…
There’s more to this landscape than pristine waterfalls and ochre rock, which are the typical draw cards for visitors and their photographs!
The gnarled bark of the Turkey Bush (Calytrix exstipulata and Calytrix brownii were both found here), the patterns and textures of the rocks, and the clumps of spinifex are just as much a part of Litchfield as its spectacular waterfalls.
These smaller details can be easy to overlook, but together they tell a much richer story of the landscape.
Part of my aim with photographs like this is to notice and celebrate those details – creating an image that captures not just a beautiful view, but gives a greater connection to place.
Typically, Dripstone Cliffs and Casuarina Beach is a location visited by most at sunset - popular in Darwin with locals for the best views at this time of day to watch the colours unfold.
This image was captured at sunrise during a high tide, with the aim of achieving soft pastel colours and glow of the warm light of dawn (from the rising sun behind me!)

The most peaceful time of day!
Seriously one of the most underrated drives in Australia!
The drive along the Victoria Highway from Katherine to Kunanurra winds through dramatic red cliffs that give a taste of the Kimberley mountain ranges to come. The highway ducks towards and away from the mighty Victoria River, and the unusual boabs start to scatter themselves through the open woodland.
This image was captured at sunset, from the Victoria River bridge - the last warm light illuminating these special features in a vast open land.
One of the first images I’ve selected from a ten day hike in the Bungles, exploring Picaninny Creek and the five fingers in Purnululu National Park.
I applied for a drone permit for my 14 days in the park, and was excited to see these images first having never travelled on a big photography adventure with a drone before!
This is these iconic Bungles domes, from a different perspective.
In all it's glory - the beauty of Wangi Falls, Litchfield National Park.
Captured from the drone in the middle of the wet season, a panoramic image combining multiple shots to ensure this wide sweeping view.
The plunge pool that visitors love, deep blue with the low cloud of the wet season.
The popular boardwalk viewing platform sweeps through the bottom of the image, through the paperbark forest.
This high angle really highlights the lush, tropical rainforsest that surrounds and shades this much loved destination.
And of course, let's not forget the thundering falls themselves! The ochre-red cliffs such a uniquely Top End colour contrast between the surrounding green.
It's impossible to explain just how special this place is.
Remote, off track - right in to the depths of the Stone Country of Kakadu National Park, bordering Arnhem Land.
An ancient landscape, mostly untouched except for the thousands of years Aboriginal Australians inhabited and cared for this beautiful country.
Being in this landscape is to feel this landscape.
Uluru provides many angles and patterns for photography - this tree is in Kantju Gorge, where I spent plenty of time lying on the ground searching for the best angle to capture the sprawling shape of this desert bloodwood with the red rock backdrop.
This majestic Territory icon is probably one of the most photographed landscapes in the Australia, and it's always a challenge to try and capture something unique!
Living in Darwin the weather has become a passion of mine to photograph, and on this trip to the Red Centre I wasn't planning to even visit Uluru! However, on seeing the weather forecast once arriving in Alice Springs I just had to make the long drive to camp out at the rock and wait for the rain and the photographic delights that come with it!
I wasn't disappointed. After 6 days at the rock, I experienced 2 or 3 days of rain (and cold, for this tropical Territorian!), rainbows, dramatic sunsets and stunning clouds!
This panoramic image stands out to me not only for the imposing cloud, but also for that slither of golden light that the clouds revealed for a few seconds before sunset.

This image can be seen on display at the Fannie Bay Cool Spot cafe. Here, it is split in to three panels as indicated in the photo here. Each panel measures 24 x 24" (61cm x 61cm), giving an overall width of 72" (183cm) - height is 24". It is recommended to hang each panel 10-20mm apart. Other sizes are available by request!
Limmen National Park - a beautifully unique and remote location…. I managed to capture this shot just in the nick of time!
I stop in for a night’s camp at Karlu Karlu (The Devils Marbles), any time I drive south on the Stuart Highway. The facilities are basic but the complex landscape of boulders makes it more than worthwhile.
There’s a different landscape to be found on every visit, as the walking tracks meander in and around precariously stacked boulders.
On this occasion, the captivating landscape is aglow in the warm red hues of a complimentary sunset sky. The ancient rock formations, shaped by millenia of erosion, stand out vividly against the backdrop… a mesmerising and otherworldly piece of art, created by nature. I am constantly in awe of the beauty of the Australian outback!

After a long chase up the Cox Peninsular Road, and failing to find a clearing in the woodland to see this storm… I ended up at Mandorah Jetty looking back to our little Darwin CBD.
A beautiful vista awaits those who are able to trek down to the 8th Gorge Campsite, Nitmiluk National Park.
Located above the main gorge, high on top of the clifftops, the campsite is behind where I took this photo from - a sandy, shady beach on the banks of a seasonal waterfall.
