Synaesthesia (Limited Edition - Bruce Munro: Tropical Light Exhibition)
Munro’s light installation Water Towers draws on so many elements, making this a challenging image to create.
One of the most interesting components based not upon a physical thing, but a concept that cannot be seen: Synaesthesia - the ability to see sounds as colour.
One of the most impressive sights and sounds of the wet season are our storms. The sight of the lightning and sounds of thunder, vibrant red and orange representing danger and the iconic colours of the NT outback. The Water Tower image is a celebration of our wet season and how Darwin is dependent upon it.
Limited to 40 editions as part of an exclusive collection for the 2019 Bruce Munro: Tropical Light exhibition. Each image created relates directly to one of the exhibited light sculptures (of the same title) created and displayed in the Darwin CBD during the tropical summer of 2019-2020.
