Framed Fine Art Print 12 x 20" (30 x 50cm) - Looking Down the Cascades, Curtain Falls, Litchfield
he Cascades is one of Litchfield’s lesser visited waterholes, but is well worth the walk for a more secluded swim!
During the dry season, walkers follow the creek throiugh the monsoonal forest to the pool in this image. Usually just a trickle by the time the walk is open, the shady pools are often frequented by Mertern’s water monitors who like to startle the swimmers!
During the wet season, the lower access walk is flooded and adventurers must climb the hill to the Upper Cascades. That’s when this shot was taken - during the wet season months the falls and foliage are looking spectacular! There’s no access to the lower pools at this time due to saltwater crocodile risk… but the views and swimming at the Upper Cascades is definitely worth the walk!
This shot was taken not long after sunrise, the warm morning rays just hitting the lower trees and rock wall.
This is framed in a grey timber frame, measuring 30.5 x 51cm
Handmade in Darwin.
Pick up from Darwin Waterfront Gallery or delivery Aus wide available on check out.
