Nourlangie Haven (Limited Edition - Exploring Nature's Way Collection)

from A$125.00

An image I have been trying to capture for many years, but requires several elements to be lined up just right! Nourlangie Rock is one of the most visited locations in Kakadu National Park - home to some of the park’s most spectacular rock art galleries.

A short distance away from the rock is the waterhole Anbangbang Billabong. Inaccessible and flooded for much of the year with restricted access due to the presence of saltwater crocodiles, there are only a few months of the year to actually see this billabong.

As the dry season continues on, bird life from around the park congregates at the limited water supplies available such as this one. Capturing this image requires good timing - it’s a fine line between dry and too dry. I wanted to feature birds in the image, however small! I also wanted to ensure reflections in the shot, and to be able to capture them without being eaten by a crocodile… I also wanted to capture the sunset’s red glow on the rock and needed clouds or detail in the sky to add interest. I was lucky enough, after many years to be able to align all the elements I had in my mind… in to a real image!

Limited to 20 editions as part of the “Exploring Nature’s Way” Collection -  A Journey through Kakadu, Nitmiluk & Litchfield National Parks. A collection of special images exploring the natural diversity found around Litchfield, Kakadu and Nitmiluk National Park areas and even the Darwin CBD.

The Top End is a unique landscape, and the aim of this collection is to showcase what we have to offer - even to those exploring “Nature’s Way” on a tight time frame. This collection has been compiled in conjunction with Louise’s coffee table book - “The Wonder of Nature’s Way” - a 200+ page book intended to dig deeper into the habitats and ecosystems explored in the region.

As a summary,

Rolled Fine Art Prints are pretty much what they say on the tin! A high quality, archive photographic paper which arrives rolled in a tube for you to frame in your desired frame type.

Canvas prints arrive ready to hang and are stretched around a wooden frame with a mirror wrapped edge.

Aluminium prints also arrive ready to hang with a "shadow mount" on the reverse. These are high definition, waterproof and scratch resistant.

Custom sizing by request.

Framing also by request. I handmake all of my own frames, but due to shipping challenges I prefer to keep these for a local pick up option. I can package and ship frames, but the cost will need to be organised on a case by case basis. I also often bring in different frames to try regularly so please get in touch if you'd like to see some current frame choices. Otherwise, please come and see them for yourself at the Waterfront Gallery!
