Green Flash (Limited Edition - Bruce Munro: Tropical Light Exhibition)

from A$95.00

This was one of the more challenging light sculptures to interpret, but once I found out the location for the Green Flash installation the ideas fell in to place!

An actual “green flash” was nigh on impossible to capture on demand, but this Darwin sunset sky I think represents the concept well. The Town Hall [ruins] were constructed from the beautiful local stone, porcelinite. It was the perfect subject for this image!

The unusual colours in this rock has always been one of my favourite features to photograph around Darwin. I decided to focus more on these small rocks at Mindil Beach, because their circular shape reflected the shape of the light sculpture.

Limited to 40 editions as part of an exclusive collection for the 2019 Bruce Munro: Tropical Light exhibition. Each image created relates directly to one of the exhibited light sculptures (of the same title) created and displayed in the Darwin CBD during the tropical summer of 2019-2020.
